Pukpuk trio play for Canberra club

first_imgPNG Pukpuk Sevens trio Billy Torea, Dondon Kais and Hubert Tseraha have been selected to play for the Uni-Norths club in Canberra for the whole season.The three who are currently part of the ACT Brumbies camp, played their first game on Saturday in the main ACT premier division.Meantime, it’s been a month since the six Pukpuk boys including Torea, Kais and Tseraha have been training with the ACT Brumbies and they have picked up really well.However speedy winger Henry Liliket will be undergoing an ankle surgery this week.Youngsters Butler Morris and Wesley Vali are well underway with rehabilitation under the guidance of Brumbies high performance and strength and conditioning coaches.The rest of the squad departed for Canberra on Sunday and now join the six in camp.Players Manu Guise, Stanis Susuve, Seki Sisah, Hensley Peter, Henry Khalua and Nathan Buruman finally travelled after their visas were sorted out together with PNG Men’s 7s head coach Fereti Verebula.The other six that have recently joined the team in camp will also be put in teams to play this weekend for match fitness.The Pukpuks have another month of training under the Brumbies before returning on July 1 to travel to Glasgow, Scotland for the Commonwealth Games.last_img read more
