first_img Tags: College of Idaho Coyotes/Keun Palu-Thompson/Maine Black Bears/NAIA/New Hope Christian/NIT/Penn State/Salish Kootenai/Utah Runnin Utes FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailSALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, the University of Utah Runnin’ Utes men’s basketball team hosts an exhibition game against the NAIA College of Idaho Coyotes at the Huntsman Center.The Utes return seven letter-winners from a squad that went 23-12 in 2017-18 and played for an NIT championship, losing to Penn State in the title game.The Coyotes come into this game at 2-0, having defeated New Hope Christian and Salish Kootenai.After this exhibition, the Coyotes will return to their usual NAIA competition as they compete at the Clearwater River Casino Invite at Lewiston, Idaho.The Coyotes have five players averaging double digits this season and are led by Keun Palu-Thompson, who averages 16 points a game thus far.Thursday’s game is the third all-time meeting between the schools, but the first time they have met in an exhibition. The Utes lead the all-time series 2-0 in a series dating back to 2012.Utah’s regular season commences November 8 as they host the Maine Black Bears of the America East Conference.
