‘It’s a great time to be a Tottenham fan’, admits diehard Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan

first_imgDiehard Arsenal supporter and outspoken TV host Piers Morgan has admitted – through gritted teeth – that it’s a good time to be a Tottenham fan.Spurs rose above their north London rivals to third place in the Premier League as Harry Kane fired a fine brace in a 3-0 win over Norwich on Tuesday.Arsenal, meanwhile, failed to score in a third successive league game as they fell away from the title chasing pack with a 0-0 draw with a steadfast Southampton.Spurs have NEVER finished above Arsenal during Arsene Wenger’s reign as Gunners boss, but many are tipping them as title contenders this season due to their fine form – they have lost just three times and have the top flight’s best defensive record with just 19 goals conceded.Morgan is a fierce anti-Wenger campaigner – “If I could give him a Valentine’s Day present, it would be a P45” –  and he had one more warning for his fellow Arsenal fans who believe the Frenchman is still the right man to lead the Gunners.“If Arsenal fans are listening, and you spent the last seven years telling me I’m wrong, just imagine how we’re going to feel if Tottenham are Premier League champions,” he said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.“They’ve got the best defence, a good goalkeeper, a very creative midfield and, in Harry Kane if he stays fit, one of the best red-hot strikers in Europe never mind just this country.“If I was a Tottenham fan I would be feeling pretty good right now, I’m afraid.”Asked what he’d do if Spurs DID win the league title this season, Morgan joked: “I’d have to emigrate.”last_img
