Man due in court in Belfast over firearm possession

first_imgA MAN IS due in court in Belfast later today charged with possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances.The 43-year-old will appear at Belfast Magistrates Court this morning charged with two counts of possessing a firearm in suspicious circumstances, possessing ammunition in suspicious circumstances and dishonestly using electricity.The incident is related to a search in the Kings Way area of Newtownabbey in Co Antrim by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland investigating incidents connected to the recent riots in the North over the flying of the Union flag at Belfast City Hall.A 24-year-old man and 45-year-old woman who were also arrested in connection with that search have been released on bail pending further inquiries by detectives in the North.VIDEO: Arson attack on home of loyalist Willie FrazerTimeline: How the flags drama unfolded in Northern Irelandlast_img
